I personally prefer to remain neutral on my take on the issue of using drugs, at no point will I ever tell anybody to use or not to use drugs, its absolutely upon the individual, but if you are my tattoo client then I will advice you to show up sober for any tattoo session.
One of the main reason is because tattoos are a lifetime thing and such decision are best made if the party making them is not intoxicated. It is very embarrassing to live with a tattoo you hate just because you got it while high.
Another reason is because it is easier to tattoo a sober person than a person who is under the influence of any substance.
You are even on the safe side of the law if your shop is drug free, a factor that will open up your business to people in all age groups since they are all comfortable visiting your premise.
The last and the main reason why you should not smoke weed or take alcohol before a tattoo session is because the two substances increase the pulse rate and make blood to flow under a higher pressure therefore making your tattoo bleed more, if there is a lot of bleeding then your tattoo is likely to fade because ink did not penetrate into your skin well since it was being pushed out by blood.
The idea that using drugs especially marijuana before a tattoo session will reduce pain is actually a misconception.
REMEMBER TO ALWAYS SHOW UP SOBER FOR YOUR TATTOO SESSION.
