THE STANDARD GUAGE RAILWAY LIE

THE STANDARD GUAGE RAILWAY LIE.

Hello sweet people,

According to Wikipedia, the SGR is Kenya's most expensive infrastructure project since independence and it cost US$3.6 billion. The project was not a bad idea but I think its timing was, who builds a passenger and freight railway in the 21st century funded 90% by a foreign country? Of course it is the Kenyan government.

The Central Bank Governor Patrick Njoroge on October 28/2019, faulted the structure of the Kenyan economy where the growth on paper was evident but there were no jobs.
He stated that increased spending on infrastructure development over the years did not put money in the pockets of Kenyan households, a report by the Business Daily on October 30, 2019 reported.
"It's true the number of goods produced sold in the country rose. The only problem is that Kenyans can't eat the numbers," Njoroge argued.

The railway is such a big lie because since the completion of the Mombasa to Nairobi route what we have seen is the collapse of truck freight companies which offered employment to Kenyans.

In 2019, the government passed a policy forcing all cargo being cleared in the port of Mombasa to be handled through what ended up being the more expensive railway, leading to protests from cargo transporters. According to the contract between Exim bank, Kenya Railways Corporation and Kenya Ports Authority, the KPA is obliged to provide 1 million tons of freight from the start of the operation rising to 6 million by 2024.

Look at what is happening to small towns and centers along Mombasa and Nairobi that serve as resting places for truck drivers and bus passengers.
These towns offered a wide range of services like garages, lodgings, bars and gas stations. What the SGR is doing is sending these people home and bringing in expatriates from China.

When a virus is spreading this fast the Prediction of the people and that of health experts is that there is a possibility of the virus hitting Kenya that is why the health ministry was very quick to screen all the 239 passengers on-board after a Chinese plane landed at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), the passengers were later advised to quarantine themselves for a 14-day period.

The president of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta also set up a 21- member task force and ordered the completion of an isolation center at Mbagathi hospital in Nairobi in a period of seven days. This 120- bed Isolation at Mbagathi is in addition to two other temporary isolation rooms that have been identified at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) and another one set up at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH)

Health CS,  Mutahi Kagwe, on Friday 6th announced that all international meetings, conferences and events had been banned in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID 19. This ban will ensure that nobody jets in the country infected leading to a possible attack.

The health ministry is also sending SMSs to Kenyan's Safaricom lines. The short messages aim at creating awareness about Corona Virus and educating the public on what to do. This move will equip the public with the necessary knowledge in case of an attack and it will also help prevent the possibility of an attack.
